" I have
been doing Cross Stitch for over 30 years and found very few designs of
truly African scenes or culture. I spent many years living in
Zimbabwe growing up and was introduces to African culture by my
extraordinary parents. I moved to South Africa to continue my career
as an accountant / bookkeeper but kept up my interest in African
anthropology. A few years ago I had a stroke and was later diagnosed
with Multiple Sclerosis. So I had to give up my career and returned
to live with my parents who farm in Mpumalanga.
I was
asked to design a truly African tablecloth for a wedding present, so I
looked at the amazing beadwork done by most of the Southern African tribes
and the painting of Ndebele huts. African Bushveld is so beautiful
in all it seasons, although to some it may appear harsh. And some of
Africa's natural beauty is one of a kind and can be found no where else. I
have tried to capture some of this beauty in my designs so I may share my
love of the land in which I live. I travel around South Africa with
my son to capture some of the beauty I see. "
Patterns
can be ordered in a variety of file formats including Stitch 2000,
and Microsoft Excel. As a rule of thumb the patterns are distributed in
the
Microsoft Excel format.

can be made from photographs, in colour or black and white.
